The 430 grade is a stainless steel best suited for mild corrosive environments. For more aggressive environments, it might be better recommended to choose a 300 series stainless like 304 of 316L. Without Molybdenum or Nickel additions, 430 stainless steel is significantly less expensive 316. 430 Stainless Steel McMaster-CarrOne side of these sheets is polished to a brushed #3 finish with grain lines running in one direction to mask fingerprints. The polished side is covered with a protective peel-off film. Use 430 stainless steel in decorative and light structural applications, rather than outdoors or in extreme temperatures. It maintains its corrosion resistance in temperatures up to 1250° F.
Machinability is also good, although there is a possibility of galling. Type 430 stainless steel is commonly used in the production of domestic appliances and is also used in the automotive sector for trim parts. Features. Type 430 stainless is a ferritic stainless steel with good corrosion resistance and is 440C - Rolled Alloys, Inc.Stainless 440C is a high-carbon martensitic stainless steel. As a martensitic stainless steel, 440C is magnetic and can be hardened by heat treatment. The high carbon content in 440C provides high hardness and strength. Despite this carbon content, the chromium content is sufficient to retain its stainless characteristics.
Alro Steel Metals Guide Stainless Steel 430 stainless steel has good corrosion resistance combined with good formability. 430 is very similar to 439 grade stainless steel with slightly less chromium at 16% minimum content. 430 is more oxidation resistant and corrosion resistant than 409 grade. 430 is a popular non-harden- Difference Between Stainless Steel 304 and 430 Corrosion resistance. Stainless steel as a whole is corrosion resistant however, different grades perform better than others. The introduction to nickel in 304 makes it a much more corrosion resistant grade than 430 however, it does make it more expensive.
Looking for Sheet Metal, 430 SS, 0.018 x 6 x 12 In? Find it at Grainger®. With over 1.6M products and 24/7 customer service we have supplies and solutions for every industry. Gneiss Spice Stainless Finish Wall Plate Base for Magnetic I bought this metal plate with the 24 magnetic jars, for hanging the jars somewhere other than the fridge. The plate is sturdy (~0.1" thick, 12 ga) stainless steel, with a polished "restaurant quality" finish, and shipped with a protective sheet over the front. It has four pre-drilled holes in the corners.
Stainless Steel Sheet Finishes. Stainless steel sheet is produced in many types of finishes due to the various uses and applications that stainless steel can be used in. It has become popular in kitchens due to its low maintenance, cleanliness, appearance, and corrosion resistance to food acids and water. Is Stainless Steel Magnetic? Austral WrightAustral Wright Metals stock two New Generation ferritic stainless steel grades, AWM 404GP® and 445M2. Both are magnetic, because both are ferritic. Both have at least 21% of chromium, which is more than the grade they replace, and much higher than Grade 430. AWM 404GP® replaces 304, and 445m2 replaces 316 it contains 1% of molybdenum.

Cold rolled No. 8 stainless steel sheets are available in Type 304/304L, 316/316L, 430, 410S, 409/409L, and Duplex grades. We can supply 201/304/316 cold rolled stainless steel sheets with No. 8 finish with or without PVC coating in thickness range of 0.8mm to 3.0mm. Premier Distributor of 430 Stainless Steel Sheet & Strip Description:Type 430 Stainless Steel is a low carbon ferritic stainless steel which, in mildly corrosive environments or atmospheric exposures, has corrosion resistance approaching that of some nickel-bearing stainless steels. This alloy is oxidation resistant at elevated temperatures. Type 430 is ductile, does not work harden readily, and can be formed using a variety of roll forming or mild
A ferritic stainless like 430 stainless steel, on the other hand, is ferromagnetic. Magnets stick to it. In the graph shown, we simulated a variety of magnet sizes to a 1/16" steel plate. Though the results varied quite a lot depending on the exact geometry, all pull force values were within 82% to 99% of the pull force to a piece of Stainless Steel Grade Datasheets - Atlas SteelsStainless Steel Datasheets Revised November 2011 Page 1 of 1 atlassteels.au Austenitic Stainless Steels 301, 301L, 301LN High strength for roll formed structural components 302HQ Low work hardening rate grade for cold heading fasteners 303, 303Se Free-machining bar grades 304, 304L, 304H Standard 18/8 grades 310, 310S, 310H High temperature resistant grades
Type 430 is a ferritic stainless steel with corrosion resistance approaching that of 304/304L stainless steel. This grade does not work harden rapidly and can be formed using both mild stretch forming, bending, or drawing operations. The different between 410 and 430 stainless steel - Jaway 410 stainless steel is produced in accordance with the ASTM standard stainless steel grades, the equivalent of 1Cr13 stainless steel, S41000 (US AISI, ASTM).
